Basair Aviation College , Sydney , Australia (200 Hour Commercial Air Pilot Package Course)
The 200 Hour Package course is designed for students that want to achieve their first 200 hours of flying as soon as possible.
The course is structured so that students fly the additional 25 hours of command required before a ME CIR (Multi Engine Command Instrument) course while they are still studying for their CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence ). This means that they start their ME CIR part of their course earlier.
The 200 Hour Package has three parts:
- Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Pilot License)
- Additional 25 hours of command flying to take the total to 200 hours
- Diploma in Aviation (Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating)
The course runs for 50 weeks. Students are required to have completed their CPL prior to starting the ME CIR part of the program.
The course is structured in the same way as the CPL and ME CIR courses. However, students will be scheduled for additional command flying of 25 hours while they are studying for the CPL. This also means that students have more experience before they sit their CPL flight test and will be more confident pilots.
The 200 Hour Package is equal to the sum of the Commercial Pilot License, plus 25 additional hours of command flying plus the Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating.

Proven track record in quality pilot training since 1991.

We have graduated many successful alumni.
The courses are also designed to the latest competency based standards. Furthermore, our courses are fully approved by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS, registration number 01552D), as well as being accredited by the Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB), ensuring high standards of course delivery.
Forty-four world-class instructors with 45,000 hours of flying experience combined.
The quality of the teacher is the single most important driver of a student's success. Our instructors are all trained professionals, and are continually being evaluated and trained to maintain the highest standards. Furthermore, the majority of our instructors have been trained by Basair - so the standardisation of our training techniques is unequalled.
All instructors have, or are working towards, a formal teaching qualification such as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Therefore, our instructors have qualifications from CASA for flight instruction as well as a more general academic qualification as a teacher.
Students progress swiftly, having the opportunity to finish their course within the timeframe.
At Basair we know that it is important to keep a student motivated by giving them enough opportunity to fly. We provide enough flights for students to achieve their targets, for example 100 hours dual within a year.
Pre-paid fees are insured.
Pre-paid fees from Australian full time students are insured with the Australian Council of Private Education and Training (ACPET.)
