Cowichan Valley is a K - 12 School District in British Columbia, Canada. It is located 25 minutes away from the BC capital city of Victoria on Vancouver Island. The valley has the warmest average temperatures in Canada with a warm sunny summer and a mild winter with little or no snow.
The district is fully accredited by the BC Government Ministry of Education and has been hosting international students for over 20 years.
The Cowichan Valley has four high schools, four middle schools and twenty-one elementary schools with a combined enrolment of 8300 students. The schools in this area are 98% English speaking which provides international students with a excellent English immersion program. The academic, sports and performing arts programs are some of the best in British Columbia. School sites are new, modern and equipped with excellent computer labs, theatres, resources and gymnasiums. The Cochiwan Valley International program offers a variety of programs including short term, long term, continuous intake and summer programs. ESL is delivered to meet the individual needs of all students. All students stay in approved homestays that are chosen to meet the individual needs of the student.
