Frequently Asked Questions:
Is it possible to work during the theory part of the Professional Year Program?
Yes, participants who hold a visa with work rights in Australia are able to work during the theory component of the program.
However, the 12 week vocational placement will be full time , 5 days a week. All placements will be unpaid.

Where will I complete my 12 week vocational placement?
These 2 programs will take place in Western Australia. Perth is the capital of Western Australia.
Western Australia is the largest mineral producing state of the country and the centre of the Australian natural resources industry. The industry consists of companies who explore, extract, processand export minerals and petroleun. The continued high price of commodities has led to a booming industry and a constant demand for skilled workers in Western Australia.
As many engineering organisations work on projects in remote or regional areas, participants could be placed in the city or in a remote area.
If the placement is in a regional area, it is expected that the host company will provide transport and accommodation for the intern during the duration of the internship. Interns will not be able to choose where they are placed, however, the placement will be in their specific area of expertise.
