WHY ACCOUNTING?

The market needs accountants and finance specialists who know about financing business and controlling risk whatever the economic climate.

WHY IFA QUALIFICATIONS?
The IFA was founded in 1916 and is the fourth largest professional Accountancy body in the UK. It represents members and students in more than 80 countries throughout the world and provides a qualifications and continuous professional development for those who want to become an Incorporated Financial Accountant.
IFA qualifications are evidence that you have the practical ‘hands-on’ financial management and accounting skills to run a successful business. They will help you develop and improve your workplace skills, your knowledge of the regulatory environment and gain you professional recognition.

Three qualifications are available to match particular career points:
  • Financial Accountant Diploma, for those who support finance managers or wish to work in the finance function
  • Professional Financial Accountant, for those who manage or lead, or seek promotion within the finance  function
  • Pathhways to Fellowship (The Strategic Leader Programme) to round off experience for those who manage and lead SMEs or SMPs (Small and Medium Practice)
Providing practical training in a wide range of finance and accounting subjects, IFA qualifications open up a choice of possible career routes. Whether you are looking to progress in your existing career, increase your salary, or set up your own business, the IFA qualifications will expand your options.  Whilst the focus of our qualifications is on the SME sector, our qualifications have provided a sound grounding for people who have gone on the senior financial and managerial positions in large commercial organisations and in the public sector.
These qualifications are up-to-date, relevant and tailored to accountancy and finance management. The IFA’s qualifications focus specifically on the “IFRS for SMEs” (International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises), supporting the quality and consistency of SME financial statements around the world.
You will learn what funding options are available for businesses, the relative health of the cash flow and how the tax system might affect your business. Training in these finance and accounting core skills is complemented by modules covering key business and management disciplines to give members the skills they need to drive SME success.
As well as preparing and interpreting financial statements and reports and raising issues with management when needed, you will learn how to provide essential management accounts and budgeting advice. Developing positive professional behaviour is also embedded in all qualifications.
