About This University
Zhejiang University is a comprehensive national university. Founded in 1897, Zhejiang University was initially known as “Qiushi Shuyuan” (Qiushi Academy), one of the earliest modern academies of higher learning established in China. In 1952, because of the nationwide restructuring of universities, Zhejiang University underwent a reshuffling of disciplines and some departments merged into other universities.
Zhejiang University's fields of study cover philosophy, literature, history, education, science, economics, law, management, engineering, agriculture, medicine and etc. The university now has 113 specialties for undergraduate studies, and it is entitled to confer masters degrees in 324 programs and primary (secondary)discipline doctoral degree in 41 (252) programs.

Among its 8,299 staff members and workers, there are 15 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 12 members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, over 1,292 full professors and over 2,455 associate professors.
With a total space of 450.37 Hectare, the university library has a collection of more than 60,50,000 volumes. In additional, the university has 7 affiliated hospitals, providing medical services of various kinds for people from all over Zhejiang province. Admission requirements : Passed year 12th, or High School equivalent, or GCE A levels
Visa requirements and letter of Offer - submit copies of high school diploma and high school mark sheet, passport copy and photo, information of your funds guarantee, cerificate of good character (letter of guarantee from parents, employer or bank, certificate of good character from school or agent), your home address and telephone number, University Insurance Application Form and University Enrolment form and Registration fee of RMB 800.
Within 10 working days, Admission letter and JW202 form will be sent to the student.
The student should take the Admission letter and JW202 form to China embassy and apply the X visa. Then the student can take the X visa and arrive at the university.
